Neuro Integration System (NIS) in San Antonio

A Different Way to Look at Neurological Function

When a concern keeps hanging around despite different approaches, it can be frustrating to feel as though something is still being missed. Neuro Integration System (NIS) takes a different angle by looking at communication between the brain, nervous system, and the rest of the body.
At Lifestyle Chiropractic, Dr. Dean Odmark uses NIS to evaluate areas where neurological signaling may not be functioning as expected.

Think of It Like Rebooting a Computer

That’s how Dr. Odmark often explains NIS to someone hearing about it for the first time. Rather than focusing primarily on a joint or muscle, NIS looks at how the brain receives and communicates information throughout the body.
Muscle Response Testing, or MRT, evaluates different systems and identifies areas that are poorly responding. Dr. Odmark then uses specific corrective points associated with the brain and nervous system before retesting the area.
This testing-and-retesting process makes each visit individual rather than following the same sequence for every patient.

A Broader Look at the Body

NIS works differently from Dr. Odmark’s traditional chiropractic care. Chiropractic adjustments use manual or instrument-assisted methods to address spinal and joint function, while NIS focuses more directly on neurological communication.
Patients may seek it for ongoing neurological weaknesses, chronic concerns that haven’t fully responded to other approaches, or simply to maintain their health.
The broader NIS system was developed around MRT and structured “pathways” that guide practitioners through different areas of evaluation, rather than using one fixed protocol for every concern.

What Will a Visit Feel Like?

NIS is hands-on but doesn’t resemble a conventional chiropractic adjustment. Dr. Odmark evaluates muscle responses, works with the areas indicated during testing, and rechecks the response.
Because your findings guide the process, what we address in one appointment may differ from what another patient needs.
